Trauma-Informed Restorative Yoga

Everyone experiences trauma differently, facing a wide range of emotional and physical symptoms. Trauma can be a one-time distressing occurrence or an ongoing series of events. Either way, it leaves an imprint on the mind-body system. Trauma-Informed Yoga can help to regulate this system, especially partnered with other therapeutic methods.
This form of Yoga is a restful, healing practice, that holds yoga asanas (poses) for longer durations and uses props, such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets, in order to assist the body in achieving ultimate relaxation, without strain or pain.
Restorative Yoga may improve stress levels, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and symptoms of PTSD, by increasing the mind-body connection. This class is for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. All poses are performed on the floor, in a seated position. There are minimal physical requirements, only the ability to get down to and up from the floor. The instructor will assist in positioning throughout the class.
